Dear Mr. Olson,

As a Creative Director you know how difficult it is to get a first job as a copywriter.

Agencies hire copywriters when they get new business. They need experienced writers who can handle the new business. Not beginners.

Training programs have been trimmed or cut entirely in an effort to streamline agency costs.

So there’s a gap in the skill level of graduating students and the level required on the job.

I’ve been studying advertising for some time. As I’m approaching the time when I’ll be seeking a full-time copywriting job I’ve become aware of the gap between school and work.

I feel an internship is a possible way to bridge this gap.

I’m in the process now of arranging an internship with an agency in the Twin Cities. Ed Richardson at Martin-Williams gave me your name as a person to contact at Campbell-Mithun.

I wonder if you’d have some time to meet with me and discuss the possibility of arranging an internship at your agency?

I’ll call in a few days to see if we can arrange a time to meet.

Sincerely,

Jim Brodie

Dear Alfred:

This is to advise you that I have accepted the position of Marketing Manager, with Gandolfo Networks Inc., based in Buffalo New York. Accordingly, please regard this as my official letter of resignation.

My last day of work here will be June 28, 2002. In addition, during this period I will be able to bring both you, and my deputy Aaron Roach, up-to-speed on all of the operations and outstanding issues in my department.

I am very much looking forward to the professional challenge being offered to me by Gandolfo, which as you know, is the market leader in its field. Incidentally, during the recruiting process, the Gandolfo people were very impressed with the experience and knowledge that I had gained here at LithText International over the past five years.

In closing, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to you as my supervisor, as well as to my many friends and colleagues at LithText. I have truly enjoyed my years working with all of you, and am grateful for the many learning and growth opportunities I was given over the years.

Love Letter 3

My Love –

I had to send you this love letter now.

You see, sometimes I miss my chance to say the right thing at the right moment.  Or the words escape me.

I guess I don’t always convey my deepest feelings when you’re around, because I’m too busy feeling them. My heart goes soft, and these powerful sentiments don’t always translate into words that express just how devoted I am to you.  The most powerful thing to come from my lips always seems to be the kisses we share.

You’d probably smile if I said any of this to you, and I might laugh back nervously as well.  But here in this letter my truest feelings are yours to have and to hold – remember these words of love when we silently kiss.

I know when I see you, I’ll be embracing you and feeling your warmth, so I’m putting down my thoughts of love before I get lost gazing into your face once again.

So when I see you, remember that my love is more profound than I seem to be able to say when we’re in the same room.

Loving you has left me speechless, so please accept these written words.

Forever yours,

Love Letter 2

Dear Robert:

I was just reminiscing about Saturday evening; it was such a perfect night.

The subtle breeze made me shiver from time to time, but I’m so glad they had a table for us outside. What a wonderful way to spend an autumn evening.

Sitting across the table from you, listening to your fascinating stories, I was mesmerized.

You’re so passionate and intense when you speak of the things you love. I find that so attractive.

The wine you selected was perfect. Sipping it from the delicate glass enhanced the taste and it warmed my body as it filled up my insides.

Dinner was sumptuous. The pasta was so flavorful; I savored every bite, sucking each strand of linguini slowly through my pursed lips as I listened to you speak.

It was a luscious meal, and you were a delicious date.

I loved it after dinner when we sat there gazing into each other’s eyes sipping our wine. After each sip, the subtle taste of wine lingered on my lips, and I licked them so slowly, catching every last drop. And when you touched my lip with your finger, capturing that one drop of wine that I missed, and then licked your finger, a tingling sensation flooded my entire body.

After dinner, as we walked along the sidewalk hand-in-hand, I realized just how much I love being with you, sharing a meal with you, talking with you, and being a part of your life.

Love and affection,

Chrissie

Love Letter 1

Dear Anne,

Loving you is so easy.

So many reasons exist for why I love you.
The little things you do, the simple gestures you make, even the
thoughts that you share.  Of course, I love the way you look and
the way you feel.

There are so many things to love about you!

Do you know I love it when you daydream and you think no one is watching?  Do you
know I love the way your eyes sparkle when you tell me a funny story?  Do you
know that I love the shape of your ears?  Do you know I love to watch you sleep?

I could go on and on.

It’s important to me that you know that I love you.

So whatever it is that you are doing, thinking or saying, know that I am
here, loving you.

Love,

Richard

To Whom it May Concern:

Mr. Smith worked for me at ABC Companies for three years, as a senior technical instructor. I am writing this letter to confirm that his recent layoff as not in any way tied to his performance, and to highly recommend him as an employee with your organization.

Had I been given the choice, I would not have laid Mr.Smith off. But it was not my decision to make. ABC decided to withdraw from the PC market, balance expenses with the anticipated reduction in sales revenue, and hire a consulting firm to evaluate long-term staffing needs. As a result, ABC drastically reduced the size of its workforce by dissolving the entire PC division, including the technical training department. Unfortunately, this major reorganization left no other position open for Mr. Smith. We regretfully had to let him go.

Mr. Smith is a conscientious, highly-skilled technical instructor, worthy of at least a senior to management position. He has keen insight into the learning process, and is an expert in needs analysis, project management, course development, and classroom instruction. Mr. Smith in-depth product knowledge, unique instructional techniques, and excellent people skills have consistently received rave reviews from his students. Should conditions at ABC change, I wouldn’t hesitate to hire him back.

If you would like to speak to me about Mr. Smith skills, talents and work habits, feel free to call 123.

Sincerely,
